My Ten Jobs
Today was a pretty exhausting day, both physically and mentally.
In trying to take care of my body I began to work out again on Saturday. Lately trying to fit in a workout into my schedule has veen, well, a workout lol. Having already done Insanity I thought that getting insanity 20 minutes Fast and Furious would be a good idea to carve out 20 minutes versus 30-60. Well I woke up yesterday with the reminder that I am not 20 and definitely not on shape. No pain no gain, right? Aside from workout pain, my allergies were on overdrive yesterday. I took a couple of pills to help and would up being more tired. Top that off with title one throwing up last night at 11pm and not wanting to sleep in his own bed. Did I mention it was daylight savings time also?
Woke up with a headache and body more sore than the day before with about 5 hour sleep. Forced myself out of bed to get lunch packed and kids ready for their day. It's a wear my glasses no contacts day.
Hmm... I went from mommy to patient to doctor to caregiver to mom again. Four hats in two days.
Well I guess today, the universe thought it would so amazing if I wore 5-6 more hats today before 5pm: mommy, advocate, amateur lawyer, executive assistant, researcher, organizer and mommy again.
I only have 2 hours a day that I can call my own and that's my commute to and from work. And yet here I am wearing my blogger hat as I compose this post.
Yet I'm still alive, a little grayer, a little more knowledgeable than I was yesterday. This gives the term "well-rounded" a whole new meaning.
So I tip my hat off to those moms who have more on their plate than I do. Kudos to you. Please tell me how you do it. Is there a happy pill that I can swish down with my multiple jugs of coffee? It's ok, you can tell me.
As I look up at the next train stop I guess I better get ready to switch hats again. Time to get my mommy hat ready followed by wife, chef, tutor, entertainer, maybe researcher again if I have time. That would make hat number.... Nevermind. I lost count.
Cheers to my girls who wear multiple hats each day. We made it through another day.
